Qualitative Written Evaluations
Professor Beiyi is a wonderful professor and clearly cares greatly about her students. She’s not afraid to push the boundaries of what one would expect to be doing in a sociology class, which results in memorable and informative sessions. I can honestly say this class and what I’ve learned about being anti-racist will stick with me decades
from now.

Global Perspectives on Race & Racism
Student from Oberlin College
I took this course for distribution requirements, but was surprised by how interested I became with the material.
Beiyi is clearly very knowledgable in sociology, and I think her passion and interest in the subject made the course all the more engaging.

General Introduction to Sociology

The course helped me with my critical thinking skills and think outside of the box.
She had a unique perspective on the course, from her personal and academic background and I thought that was really neat, and I appreciated when she incorporated her
research.

Her positive interest shines through, and the class is clearly taught with caring passion.
Everyone felt seen and heard.
Professor Hu is the most kind and awesome professor at Queens! She has had so many experiences and has a way of teaching that makes class not boring. She is very caring of any personal matters or conflicts. Her feedback is good, and she is just a really nice person. Take her!

General Introduction to Sociology

Professor Hu is such a sweet professor, and she really wants her students to do well and be successful. Her class structure was much different (in a good way) than a lot of the classes I have taken, but that could also be due to the unusually small class size. I really enjoyed this methods class, even though I do not love quantitative research.

Quantitative Digital Research Methods
Student from Hunter College
This class was helpful because it will assist me and my classmates in future data analysis, using graphs to show data, and the program R Studio, which is something I never knew how to use before.
I would recommend the professor since she tries her best to answer every question that the students ask and addresses the general confusion that most students have when it comes to difficult topics.
